The NSF/NASA Center for Chemical Evolution (CCE) sponsors a host of innovative outreach programs in addition to its research on the emergence of biomolecules. Through seed grants and a multimedia approach, the CCE has designed and implemented radio, comedy, dance, and animation programs, - as mechanisms to discuss aspects of our research. As it nears the end of its funding cycle, several of the CCE’s outreach programs have reached maturity. This presentation will focus on the CCE’s collaboration with Stated Clearly and how it embodies the central strategy of developing programs that are personable, scalable, and modular. Stated Clearly animations provide, in Spanish and English, an accessible and high-level view of complex scientific ideas; the CCE has developed six animations thus far on topics such as chemical evolution, the RNA world hypothesis, and the nature of metabolism. While originally developed purely for informal audiences, these animations are now being adapted for use in the classroom, making them accessible to incredibly diverse audiences.
