Catalyst-transfer polymerization enables synthesizing well-defined π-conjugated polymers that are otherwise inaccessible via conventional step-growth polymerizations. However, this method remains rather underdeveloped compared to other controlled polymerization methods. The current hurdles are the requirement of air- and moisture-free techniques and the limited scope of attainable polymers. We aim to expand catalyst-transfer polymerization scope by addressing these problems. Namely, we are looking at more air- and moisture-tolerant experimental setup, and more complex polymer structures were assessed for catalyst-transfer polymerization. The results will both make the polymerization technique more available to a broader community and expand their applications.
