Human serum albumin nanoparticles are promising drug delivery agents due to their biocompatibility. This study investigated the co-encapsulation of an anticancer drug and fluorescent mitochondrial probe into human serum albumin nanoparticles for potential drug delivery, biomedical imaging, and therapeutic applications. An anticancer drug, doxorubicin, and rhodamine 6G as a fluorescent probe can be efficiently encapsulated into HSA nanoparticles. The release of the drug and fluorescent label was achieved using collagenase enzyme, a metalloproteinase expressed in tumors. These results demonstrate the potential for using HSA nanoparticle system for drug delivery to tumor sites for improved treatment.<br/>
