The mission and vision of one of the committees of ACS Council includes dissemination of IUPAC accepted nomenclature, terminology, and symbols to practicing chemists.  One such method of dissemination is to encourage early career chemists to learn and use the newly accepted rules appropriately. Worksheets, activities, and experiments that are aligned with current teaching standards are one such way to do so in the pre-college setting.  Herein we provide two example activities that are adaptable to the HS setting, including accuracy and precision in measurement as a way to relate the new definitions of SI units, and periodic properties as a way to relate newly discovered elements. Feedback on the activities and their appropriateness will be discussed.
