In this interactive workshop, Chemistry teachers will explore several different Chemical Engineering activities and challenges, which will complement their existing curriculum. Topics and activities addressed include oil and polymer chemistry with Chem E challenges; pH process control; Material Science and composite material engineering; electro-chemical engineering challenges and more. Including Chemical Engineering in the Chemistry class will inspire students to critically think about applying their newfound Chemistry knowledge to life and the world around them. It could also motivate them to investigate more Chemistry related career paths. During the workshop, repodicble materials will be supplied. All these challenges / activities are doable without special equipment or ingredients. All are ready for immediate implementation in the classroom. When and where possible, the activities / challenges include and refer the full range of STEAM activities - Science (Chemistry), Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. As well, the three dimensions of the NGSS are addressed.
