Stereospecific nickel-catalyzed Kumada cross-coupling reactions to provide tertiary centers, and cross-electrophile coupling reactions to afford mono- or disubstituted cyclopropanes, will be presented. These reactions engage cyclic and acyclic sulfonamides as electrophiles. Most of the known cross-coupling reactions of amines utilize charged and strained C–N bonds as an electrophilic partners. These cross-electrophile couplings provide the desired products in high yields and are diastereoselective. The scope of these transformations, across a range of cyclic and acyclic substrates will be presented. Mechanistic aspects will be discussed.
