How does one design a company that optimizes for people and planet and profit? By looking at an organization with several approaches and challenges in mind, one can improve the sustainability of a seed concept and highlight opportunities of continual improvement as organizations grow. This presentation will provide an introduction to green chemistry and provide connections to circular economy and global warming. For practical elements, a product design framework undergoing Beta testing, PrISM by Northwest Green Chemistry, that can assist with sustainable design will be discussed, in addition to several suggested actions companies can take to advance green chemistry.
