Over the past two decades or so, Green Chemistry has matured from a series of principles and aspirations into a more sustainable methodology that can be used in the development of new science. However, the dissemination and teaching of Green Chemistry to both developed and developing nations still need more effort and work. In Ethiopia, sustainable development has become an issue in some corporations and very few factories have tried to implement cleaner production. However, the concept of Green Chemistry was relatively new before our collaboration with Sir Prof. Martyn Poliakoff and his group at the University of Nottingham.  Green chemistry is well established at Addis Ababa University and the collaboration has led to a number of other key developments.
