At Eastern Michigan University, secondary education students with a chemistry concentration must take a research course as part of their Masters of Arts Teaching (MAT) program. However, with the advent of COVID-19 lockdowns, and the transition to online teaching, the availability of both human subjects and lab projects has greatly diminished. In order to provide MAT students with a research opportunity, MAT students have been given projects where they must write a paper publishable in a science teaching journal. These projects have teamed up MAT students with either undergraduates or high school science fair students who have completed lab projects. The end result has been several published papers that turn lab projects into education papers, that have been disseminated to secondary teachers through a teachers journal. Those published papers are described in this submission.
