In this study, a novel type PVDF-COF-MOF mixed-matrix membrane was obtained by integration of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) into PVDF. The MOF@COF composites was synthesized by covalently anchoring TpPa-1COF onto the surface of UiO-66-NH<sub>2</sub>. The MOF@COF constructed via aldehyde-amine Schiff base reaction and exhibited exceptional stability in water, acids and even bases. PVDF-COF-MOF MMMs were prepared by incorporating MOF@COF hybrids into PVDF in a simple solution casting process and characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR, BET, XPS, EDX and TGA analysis. The performance of the MMMs was also investigated in terms of water contact angle, pure water flux, dye removal and antifouling. Demonstrated by experimental studies, the PVDF-COF-MOF MMMs showed superior BSA rejection with a water flux above 352 L/(m<sup>2</sup>h). The synthetic strategy of the PVDF-COF-MOF MMMs provides a novel for the construction of other membranes, which could be utilized for various promising applications.
