The synthesis of complex natural products require the development of new methods in order to implement strategies that are adopted for synthesis. In this presentation, the interplay of methods informing new strategies and vice-versa will be discussed. In particular cycloisomerization methods for complex molecule synthesis as well as late-stage modifications achieved through C–H functionalization and C–C bond cleavage methods will be presented.
