Porous carbon is the core electrode material for supercapacitor, which directly determines the energy storage performance. We use biomass as raw materials to develop porous carbon for EDLC. We studied the chemical evolution of organic precursors to inorganic carbon, realized the rational design and regulation of morphology, surface and pore structure, explored the key control process parameters for the structure and performance, and clarified the technical specification of the products. We have developed a complete set of technological processes and related equipments, built a 10-ton/a pilot line, completed user evaluation of kilogram-scale material. Based on the materials, we design and developed a variety of supercapacitors, with application demonstrations in solar street lights and tourist cars. We presided over and participated in the formulation of a series of international, national and organization standards, which contributed to the high-quality development of the supercapacitor industry.
