We have been involved in synthesizing a series of 4/5-alkanoyl imidazoles, and 4/5-alkanoyl 2-amino imidazoles with various chain lengths as analogues of oroidin for identifying a lead for further optimization of antibiofilm activity. Accordingly, we have used readily available α-bromo ketone precursors for condensation with pyrimidine formimidamide to access imidazopyrimidines which were then subjected to hydrazinolysis to yield 4/5-alkanoyl-2-aminoimidazoles analogs whose destination to produced 4/5-alkanoyl imidazoles. The synthesis details and screening results will be presented.
