Cyclic macromolecules are prized for their unique architectures, giving rise to fascinating properties spanning materials science and biomedicine. In an effort to better access these polymers, new initiators are necessary to expedite synthetic efforts. In this presentation, current progress on the rational development of tethered ruthenium intiators will be discussed alongside their synthetic application in ring-expansion metathesis polymerization reactions.
