Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) is a widely used, environmentally persistent, perfluronated carboxylic acid. PFOA has a wide range of uses from being a fire retardant to application resulting in non-stick surfaces. The presence of PFOA in the environment has raised questions about health concerns and plant functions. This study assessed the physiological response and metabolite profile of velvetleaf exposed to PFOA.  Velvetleaf plants were grown in soil amended with PFOA (0 or 25 mg/kg) for 60 days. The velvetleaf showed responses in plant height, biomass, seed production, macronutrients and micronutrients, and metabolite profile that highlights unique impacts of PFOA in plants.
