Gasification technology is an efficient way for organic solid waste (OSW) utilization. However, the properties energy density and volatile of OSW results in a lower gasification temperature (700°C ~ 750°C) and high tar content in gasification products. In this paper, a calculation model of OSW and coal particle was built to study the rule of energy transfer during their co-gasification. The calculation results showed that there was a significant temperature gradient intra- and extra – OSW particles. The volatile of OSW affects the coal initial pyrolysis temperature. OSW residue reacts with oxygen more readily than coal char. The heat from oxidation reaction of coal particle would promote OSW volatile cracking. Besides, the heating process of particles was suppressed by the outflowing volatiles and endothermal reactions, and this correlation positively related to the intensity of inter-particle heat transfer.
