The 25-year journey will start with working as an analytical chemist in several large to medium-sized companies in the food, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical fields. The experience in GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and scientific software such as chromatography data systems, quality control software, and lab information management systems transferred to the non-traditional positions of product marketing and program management. Along the way, a review of the skills developed and what skills are critical for success. The lessons learned transitioning to different positions, companies, and internal positions will also be covered.
