Transition metals-catalyzed alkene hydroamidation is an atom-economical approach to convert abundant hydrocarbon feedstocks to value-added amide products.1 Protocols for alkene hydroamidations to produce branched-selective amides involving Markovnikov selectivity are well established; however, the analogous reactions displaying anti-Markovnikov linear amide -selectivity are rare. Herein we report a Ni-catalyzed anti-Markovnikov hydroamidation of unactivated alkenes by dioxazolones as amidating reagent with 2,9-dibutyl-1,10-phenanthroline as ligand. In this work, we also demonstrate a thioeher-assisted strategy for the Ni-catalyzed remote γ-C(sp3)–H amidation of alkenes.
