Abstract FOR PRESENTATION:

Year after year our facilities and industry become more agile.  We are tasked with higher performance and reliability, lower costs, and zero defects.  Much of this is accomplished through electrification and digitalization of our processes, improved procedures, and overall engineering improvements.  One of the facets we tend to overlook though, is our people.  We tend to look at automating a process as an investment but getting the right training to the right personnel is often not viewed the same.  This leads us to a fundamental question:  How to meet your training needs, invest in your operators correctly, and raise overall reliability and availability of your facility.

As the demand for power requires more from our plants and operators, it’s hard to find time and opportunity for training.  This emphasizes the need for quality over quantity in your training time and budget.  In order to maximize training value, high fidelity simulation, based on real scenarios and plant failures, gives us an interactive solution.  The capability to provide this simulation at a facility, either with an instructor facilitating, or truly remote with an instructor online, adds multiple ways to immerse operators and technicians.  The ability to place operators or technicians in real time action, to either hone startup and shutdown skills, or gain confidence in plant casualty training, makes every moment spent worthwhile.

With Remote Simulation, a Siemens Instructor can either be on site or remote from Orlando.  This allows an instructor to work with operators or technicians anywhere in the world with a high-speed internet connection.  The instructor can then work with a team of students, identify weak areas and strengths, and guarantee training time is well spent in simulator scenarios.

Siemens Remote Simulator training is an alternative to the high cost of purchasing a simulator, eliminates maintenance costs and the need for a plant staff member to be dedicated as a simulator instructor.  By bringing the simulator to your facility you have all the experience and expertise of the Siemens Instructor and access to a multi-function training simulator without the hassle of personnel travel and related expenses.
