*In this paper, grazing bifurcations on bifurcation trees in discontinuous dynamical systems are discussed. Once the grazing bifurcation occurs, periodic motions are switching from the old one to a new periodic motion. Thus, grazing bifurcations on a bifurcation tree of period-1 to period-2 motions varying spring stiffness are presented in a discontinuous oscillator with three domains divided by circular boundaries. The stability and bifurcations of period-1 and period-2 motions are discussed. From analytical predictions, periodic motions are simulated numerically. Stiffness effects on the periodic motions are discussed. Such studies will help one understand parameters effects in discontinuous dynamical systems, which can be applied for discontinuous dynamical system design and control.*

This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
