*Abstract*

*There have been extensive research efforts in recent years in developing turbulent scale resolved models and solution methods,  and carrying out demonstrative case studies for turbomachinery, evidenced by the large number of ASME conference and journal papers with titles containing the term of ‘LES’ or ‘DNS’ in the past 5 years or so. They are however mostly confined to computational domains of a single blade passage of a single row. Applications to general multi-passages and multi bladerow configurations remain very challenging due to the prohibitive computational resources required. One of the new venues of the research to address this general challenge is to develop machined-learned models to augment the effective modelling fidelity of more affordable RANS type of solutions. The present work follows a different path toward developing efficient higher fidelity models by taking a multiscale approach. The framework methodology as implemented and demonstrated for solving unsteady flows for multiple micro-structures (He, 2018), and for turbomachinery blades (He and Yi, 2017) are extended in the present work to multi-passage multi-row configurations.   *

Supporting the need among researchers worldwide for additional online and multimedia content, ASME now offers the ASME Conference Video Collection. This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
