Electricity can be generated by burning the fossil fuels like coal, diesel and natural gases. It is also generated by steam turbines. Without fuel, there will not be adequate electrical energy. Due to the use of limited sources of energy, Industrial development and population growth will be a challenging factor. Hence electricity is harvested from Sun for uninterrupted power. Solar energy has expanded remarkable attention for future energy because of its cleanliness, easy accessibility and eco-friendly. Solar photovoltaic applications are promising alternative approaches for power supply of residential consumption. Photovoltaic converts the solar energy into electricity. The PV solar system directly supplies the electrical energy to the buildings. The power may be produced excessively even when there is no demand for it. As the demand for power has been increased rapidly, the electrical energy storage technology will become necessary as a consequence of unpredictable nature and intermittent of solar energy,. Energy storage technologies are implemented to store the surplus electricity and generate the power during the requirement. The Electrical Energy storage meets the fluctuations in electricity demand and assures a steady supply economically. Battery storage system is widely used to store the electrical energy harvested from solar photovoltaic system. But the chemical properties of batteries lead to hazardous. Thus, a selection of Electrical Energy Storage is presented and PV system is studied in this paper. The objective of this paper is to give an overview of the current technology development in compressed air energy storage (CAES). The CAES plant stores the electrical energy in the form of air pressure and drives a turbine generator to produce electricity. The energy stored in the CAES plant can be utilized for residential consumption when it is required at different times. CAES is proven to be a sustainable method of energy storage because of its unique features of high capacity and long-duration of the storage when compared with other energy storage technologies. This research progresses on modelling a small scale Compressed Air energy storage system (CAES) with PV array as the suitable energy source for dwelling applications. The simulation is carried out for an average summer day and rainy day by determining the daily residential load, required PV for the load and daily energy output from the PV array. By comparing the daily electricity generation from PV with daily load the energy to be stored is identified. And energy analysis is carried out for the small scale CAES system with compression phase, excess PV energy storage and expansion phase to determine demand output. Future research and areas for enhancements in contemporary mechanism are discussed.

This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
