Biological alternatives to chemical crop protection products have become increasingly important as consumers prefer food with less chemical residues and growers need alternative modes of action to prevent resistance.  This demand and the regulatory phase-out of many chemical pesticides globally provides an opportunity for biological solutions.  However, growers often perceive biological products as having lower or inconsistent efficacy compared to chemical crop protection products. <br/>Common causes of low or inconsistent efficacy are the limited shelf life stability of the product during storage, too little of the active reaching the target site and the rapid degradation of the active on the target.  Biocompatible additives and improved formulations can enhance the efficacy of biological products and help increase acceptance in the market.  The extension of the BREAK-THRU<sup>®</sup> surfactant portfolio into biological applications has been shown to enhance shelf life stability of live microbial active ingredients and optimize the delivery and efficacy of biological solutions.
