Iron oxide has been widely used as catalysts in industries with various structures. In the past decade, various techniques had been applied in this research to investigate the FeO with Fe-O bilayer structure and its interfacial properties. To understand FeO's performance in heterogeneous catalysis reactions, it is very important to study the surface chemical characteristic of Iron oxide.  Here, we used scanning tunneling microscopy to study the FeO and FeO<sub>x</sub> on the noble metal substrates under the vacuum environment. The weak interactions between the noble meta to FeO/FeO<sub>x</sub> have been found indicating FeO's natural characteristics. We successfully obtained the FeO/noble metal system images and observed the localized catalytical reactions with nanometer-scale on the metal-metal oxide interface. This work sets a stage to find out the pathway of the catalytical reactions on the FeO/noble metal system and provide new insights into the design of new iron oxide type catalysts.
