Graphdiyne is one of the most crucial members of the two-dimensional material family, which is renowned for its structural stability and potential applications in the field of electronics and optoelectronics. Followed by graphdiyne, material chemistry was further enriched through the preparations of various two-dimensional frameworks such as pyrediyne and triphenylene-cored analogues. However, designing graphdiyne analogues with diversity in structure and applications remains a challenging task. Herein, we report a novel two-dimensional nanosheet which is a hybrid of coronene and pyrene connected via acetylenic linkage. As synthesized two-dimensional material is characterized by HRSEM, TEM, AFM, Raman, FTIR, XPS and XRD techniques. By analysing the electrostatic potential map of the material, it was found that the π electron delocalization exists all over the two-dimensional framework with relatively high electronegative potential at acetylenic linkages. Electronic structure information reveals the two-dimensional framework to be planar with Cs point group. Extended conjugation and planarity of the material account for the significant electrical conductivity (1.16×10<sup>-3</sup> Sm<sup>-1</sup>), which is one order of magnitude higher than that of graphdiyne. The large surface area and high porosity of the material were utilized for preparing a superhydrophobic surface by incorporating in to melamine sponge or cotton fabric. Two-dimensional material incorporated cotton fabric showed oil-water separation efficiency of 95.5%, and interestingly, melamine sponge combined with the material showed superhydrophobicity with a water contact angle of 154.4°.
