Measurement science is a critically important enabling technology for all branches of chemical research, with research progress often being limited by the availability of measurement technologies with suitable throughput, sensitivity or cost.  Rapid technological progress in medicine, materials, energy, agriculture and food sciences requires researchers to continually re-invent research workflows and business practices.  Given the increasing demand for maximizing operational efficiency and laboratory productivity, finding the time to create or evaluate next generation measurement science tools and techniques with the potential to disrupt current workflows can be quite challenging. <br/>In this presentation we profile the Center for Bioanalytic Metrology, an NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center that focuses the problem-solving innovation of faculty, staff and students at Purdue, Notre Dame and Indiana University on the emerging measurement science needs of industry members including Agilent Technologies, Abbvie, Bristol Myers Squibb, Corteva Agrisciences, Eli Lilly, Exxon Mobil, Genentech, Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, Merck, Pfizer, Sartorius and Takeda.  Recent results will be presented that showcase how industry members are working with the center to collaboratively address emerging measurement science problems and jointly develop next generation measurement science tools and capabilities.
