Halide perovskite single crystals have attracted immense interest in recent years owing the possible applications in next generation optoelectronics. The excellent optoelectronic performance and wide applicability of the perovskite materials are attributed to the high absorption coefficient, high carrier mobilities, low extinction binding energy, suitable band gap and defect tolerant features. Herein, we report synthesis of all-inorganic lead-free mixed halide perovskite Cs3Sb2IxCl9-x single crystals by a slow-cooling method (Figure 1). The resultant single crystals are of well-defined hexagonal shape with a planar size of centimetre. The single crystals contain stable α-crystallographic phase and show optical tunability in the visible range depending upon the halide compositions. Single crystal XRD measurements confirmed the hexagonal shape crystals are of single-crystalline nature. Interestingly, the single crystals shows birefringence property under cross polarization condition (Figure 1). Such birefringent single crystals could be useful in variety of advanced optoelectronic applications.
