<br/>Bioisosterism is an essential concept in medicinal chemistry and agrichemicals. Bioisosteric replacement has found many applications in the discovery and optimization of human drugs and agrichemicals. Not only can scientists use this strategy to expand chemical space when exploring a research area, but more importantly, it often leads to significantly improved potency or transform existing area into new and novel research area. In this presentation, we will present how we use this strategy in both the discovery and optimization of mesoionic pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidinone insecticides.
