The American Chemical Society (ACS) International Student Chapter from Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC) was created in June 2019, with the mission to empower students and the community through knowledge. Initially, it started with students from disciplines such as materials science, biotechnology, and environmental engineering, building a multidisciplinary group. A few months later, it became necessary to find an effective way to communicate about the activities and projects of the Student Chapter. Therefore, it was decided to enroll new members of industrial design engineering from TEC, students that are not strictly related with chemistry, but with many skills to achieve a proper scientific communication with people not directly related in a technological or scientific discipline.<br/> <br/>The role of the industrial design engineering students is not only to build the public image of the ACS Student Chapter at TEC but also to create innovative and attractive ways to communicate science. With the creation of the logo and image it was easier to build a brand, and increase the number of social media followers, with people coming from very different social and academic backgrounds. Most of the Student Chapter activities are prepared with the collaboration of the industrial design students, and the success obtained has been possible thanks to them.<br/> <br/>An overview of the work made by the industrial design engineer students, and the importance they have, in an ACS International Student Chapter will be presented.
