In 2017, the University of Minnesota Libraries began a pilot project with an NSF-funded multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional research center based on campus to make data associated with the center's research outputs publicly available upon publication. After some trial and error, we established a workflow that has become a standard part of the publication process. Over the last year, we worked with two additional campus research centers in adjacent fields to create and refine similar procedures for their researchers. This talk will discuss what has worked well, where there is room for improvement, and what factors have helped and hindered progress towards FAIR data for the research centers.
