Over the past decades, cross-electrophile coupling reactions have emerged as a powerful tool for the formation of C-C bonds in organic synthesis. Stereoablative radical pathways can be used to form desired enantiomers in conjunction with chiral metal catalysts, while stereospecific oxidative addition pathways can also form highly enriched chiral centers. This presentation will explore how the conditions employed in a cross-electrophile coupling reaction can bias towards one of the pathways, and how the fundamental reactivity can be controlled.
