The Molecular Sciences Software Institute (the MolSSI) is a National Science Foundation funded institute that focuses on improving software, education, and training in computational molecular sciences.  Working with the MolSSI, we have developed curricular resources to teach students programming within the context of chemistry.  The resources introduce students to fundamental concepts in scripting, data analysis, and data visualization, and well as introducing molecular mechanics and quantum mechanics computational tools.   All of the resources are available online at the MolSSI Education website (http://education.molssi.org/resources.html).  We hope that by offering thorough, well-vetted curricular resources to the computational molecular sciences community, it will be easier for instructors to incorporate programming in their courses as a tool to help their students learn chemistry.  This talk will cover MolSSI resources, teaching strategies, and methods for implementing programming in undergraduate physical chemistry curriculum or a research or training program.
