Transmetalation from boron and other elements is a powerful means of forging metal-carbon bonds.  Such reactions are widely compatible with functional groups, and they can avoid unwanted redox events at the metal.  Recent results will be discussed with an emphasis on transmetalation to gold(I).  Photophysical characterization of dual-luminescence white light emitters will be presented.
