Municipal Solid Waste includes a high portion of biodegradable waste in Bahrain. A half of biodegradable waste in Bahrain is food, which is currently dumped into the landfill, and results in methane emission, which is a greenhouse gas 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide, and harms the environment and public health. Thus, finding a sustainable solution to manage the biodegradable waste tend to be crucial. Bahrain classified as the top Arabic country in annual food waste generation per capita in 2021, which threatens the food security, and need an integrated solid waste management approach and improve consumption behavior.<br/>This study aims to explore the feasibility of Anaerobic Digestion to manage the biodegradable waste as a waste-to-energy technology to produces biogas, a promising renewable energy resource for the country. Cost- Benefit Analysis was used. The contribution in reduction of landfill methane emission was estimated.
