Copper-catalyzed borylation has become a powerful method to stereoselectively install boryl groups across π-systems. The value of this method can be enhanced by introducing electrophiles to afford difunctionalized products with tremendous versatility. Our group has recently exploited intramolecular borylative-cyclization processes to construct various heterocyclic scaffolds while achieving high enantio- and diastereoselectivities. In this presentation, I will discuss methodologies to synthesize an array of highly functionalized biorelevant heterocyclic molecules.
