This presentation will describe the perspective and goals of the global seed industry with respect to international policy development for genome edited plants. The most recent trends in government developments will be discussed with a focus on the types of approaches governments are taking. The presentation will include the implications of these approaches for the use of genome editing applications in plant breeding as well as future opportunities and challenges.
