George was a dedicated and avid chemistry outreach ambassador. He wore many hats and volunteered for the ACS in a variety of ways from chairing the SCHB to working with the CCEW committee. George was always a friendly face at regional and national meetings. His enthusiasm for sustainability and green chemistry was contagious and he worked tirelessly as an advocate for green chemistry education and the efforts of Beyond Benign from 2010-2021. George attended numerous art shows, fundraisers and college student fellow events hosted by Beyond Benign. He went on to lead and represent Beyond Benign at community events across New York and New England. He was a skilled networker and promoted the philosophy and optimism of practicing green chemistry to foster a sustainable future.<br/>George worked tirelessly for years designing and outlining a Green Chemistry Badge for Boy Scouts and printed a sample batch in 2020 just before COVID-19 halted in-person community events. He believed in the power of inspiring youth to be inventors, scientists, businessmen and consumers who practiced green chemistry. His legacy will live on and Beyond Benign is proud to have known him as a friend and will remember him through sharing his work and passion with others.
