Knowledge of liquid phase enthalpies of mixing is helpful for creating Gibb’s energy models to describe molten salts. These models are particularly valuable for the prediction of phase equilibria under the compositions and conditions needed by Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs). A thermodynamic description of the alkali-chromium dichloride system is of special interest for MSR corrosion studies. Unfortunately, the experimental enthalpy of mixing for this system is unknown. However, it may be predicted through a correlational approach previously developed and applied to alkali and uranium/plutonium trichloride systems. In this presentation,  predictions for AkCl-MCl<sub>2</sub> systems (Ak = Alkali, M=Metal) are investigated along with experimental errors propagated to form 95% confidence intervals. These results provide an essential method for calculating enthalpy of mixing  for systems where such information is experimentally unknown; thus enabling the optimization and inclusion of additional systems in the Molten Salt Thermal Properties Database-Thermochemical (MSTDB-TC).
