Titanium dioxide, TiO2, nanoparticles are a commonly used material in industry with applications in the photocatalysis of organic compounds. Since the material acts as a heterogeneous catalyst, both surface and crystalline structure play an integral part in photocatalytic activity. This project concentrated on the unexplored brookite morphology of TiO2, specifically methods to optimize the shape and size of the particles. Particles were synthesized using hydrothermal method with different pH, heating times, and analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and powder x-ray diffraction.
