CPLJR could be used as a brine dispenser for mitigating the issues involving brine dilution in Kuwait. In this study, the effect of a wide range of operating parameters at a constant Lj= 60cm and flow rate of 15 LPM, were investigated for a new and enhanced confined plunging liquid jet reactor, such as downcomer diameters (from 2.5cm to 9.4cm), Hc (from 5-40 cm), and nozzle diameters (10mm and 8mm). The difference between incoming and receiving pool liquid was kept at concentrations ranging from del S = 10 and 20 psu. The improvements made to the previous CPLJR system ensured reduced air leakage leakages to a minimum and adjusted the falling fluid jet to ensure a smooth jet fall. The most notable similarity between the Qa results of all the four downcomer sizes is that all of them demonstrated a similar trend; Qa and Hc are inversely proportional. The results showed an inverse relationship between the air entrainment (Qa) and Hc values. The results also showed that shorter downcomer sizes resulted in higher air entrainments. Denser brines gave higher Qa.
