Study abroad during spring break was a norm at Cedar Crest College; every student in good standing had the opportunity to travel and learn during their sophomore year.  The 2020 and 2021 academic years however have been nothing but normal.  In March 2020 the Cedar Crest College Sophomore Expedition traveled to London, England as stories about COVID started filling the news.  Immediate upon our return home we would go into lockdown.   Over a year later I am again teaching in preparation of our next Expedition, this time to Costa Rica but so much has changed.  The courses are designed to be both academic and experiential, but with the trip being postponed until the fall instead of spring break, the student's enthusiasm is tempered in contrast to past years.  I wish to share my thoughts on teaching the course under these unknown conditions and my efforts to keep the students engaged.   Ultimately, I learned that the Hope to Travel to any destination, is the hope that our lives will return normal and don’t we all need that.
