<p>The cam-lobe radial-piston hydraulic motor is a multistroke low-speed high-torque motor, extensively employed in large rotating machines such as winches, belt conveyors, shredders. It is composed of a cam ring, an even number of pistons and cam rollers, a cylinder block, a distributor, a housing, etc. Pistons are radially located in bores inside the cylinder block. Due to the hydraulic pressure force on the piston, cam rollers are pushed against the slope on the fixed cam ring by pistons, therefore generating the reaction force. The reaction force drives the cylinder block to rotate via the piston, while the distributor directs the incoming and outgoing oil to and from the working pistons. There is a slotted hole on piston&nbsp;to reduce inertial force, which can simultaneously affect piston deformation. Unfortunately, piston&nbsp;deformation will have an obvious impact on the oil film characteristics of the piston. In this paper, a coupled model, which combines the unsteady elastohydrodynamic lubrication model and a structural mechanics model, was established. Based on the model, the effect of the slotted hole on the minimum oil film thickness was analyzed through the dynamic simulation. The dynamic simulation showed that: the slotted hole altered the oil film shape and pressure distribution. As a result, the minimum oil film thickness increased. This study could provide valuable guidance for further optimizing the piston of radial piston hydraulic motor.</p>
