The prime objective of this study is to improve the Impact resistance of a composite armor system with the integration of exotic and unique carbon allotropes in the front face along with a corrugated core structure made of alumina ceramics. Iterative study is carried out by changing the bottom skin (backing plate) with Kevlar 29, T800S and T1000G. Research in the field of body armors focus majorly on developing a structure with maximum energy absorption but keeping in mind the weight constraint. While the armor performance depends extensively on mechanical properties of the material used, it is essential to reduce the weight of the armor without compromising the desired properties. This Engineering challenge has received a lot of emphasis and addressing with the advent of carbon nanotubes. Though the composite armors have demonstrated promising results, there exists a continuous need for development in terms of mechanical performance and weight reduction. In this study we will be using Kevlar as the top skin (Front plate), Triangular corrugated core structure with Al 7039 extrusion along with coorstek AD-995 triangles on the inside and (KEVLAR 29 or T800S or T1000G) is used as bottom skin (backing plate).This study focused on the design, modelling and the analysis of the dynamic response of composite armor system, constructed with Kevlar 29 as front skin, Alumina-ceramic filled in x shaped corrugated structure as core and bottom skin Kevlar 29 and T800S, in terms of residual velocity, energy absorption capacity and limiting velocity. The core cell size, height, thickness, skin thickness, etc., will be varied to get their influence on the impact resistance.The design parameter will be investigated for the sandwich composite armor with various configurations and stacking sequence of Alumina Ceramics, Kevlar 29 and T800S. The sandwich typically consists of front plate, core and backing plate, which will be impacted at different velocities starting at 100m/s till significant armor penetration. The ballistic limit velocity (V50) will be determined from the analysis. The non-linear explicit dynamic analysis and simulation results computed using the software ABAQUS will be validated by experiment. From the data obtained it can be suggested which composite armor has improved impact resistance and performance.The iterations will be done taking the following parameters into consideration:&nbsp;Changing material properties for bottom skin (Kevlar 29, T800S)Using different thickness for the skins.Using different size, thickness and height of X shaped corrugated core for the composite armor system.Finally, this study will be expecting to find out the best possible combination of materials and design for sandwich composite armor system for ballistic impact.&nbsp;
