<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 7.8pt; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 7.8pt; margin-left: 0cm; text-align: justify; text-indent: 21.0pt">Hardware-in-the-loop(HIL) simulation technology, where the part of system to be verified adopts real objects, is one of the important methods for the research of advanced nuclear power plant (NPP) instrumentation and control (I&amp;C) technology. NPP I&amp;C HIL simulation verification platform is generally composed of the simulation machine utilized for NPP numerical simulation, the real object distributed control system(DCS) that applies the technology to be verified, and the hardwire that connects the parts above to form a closed loop system. With the development of advanced NPP I&amp;C technology, especially the multi-module NPP technology, the HIL simulation technology are facing the challenge of communication signals booming and model extension to deal with the requirement of modules increasing and thermal-electricity generation. Driven by above requirement of research and engineering, it is necessary to develop a novel HIL simulation technology which have well flexible scalability and avoid high computational burden of DCS.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-indent: 21.0pt">In this paper, an innovative distributed simulation method applied to the transformation extension of NPP I&amp;C HIL simulation verification platform is proposed. Essential opinion of the method is deploying a real-time target machine utilized to numerical simulation and form close loop with DCS by network communication. The real-time machine is able to download dynamic model or I&amp;C algorithm to expand the platform capability of process replacement or advance I&amp;C technology verification. In order to realize the HIL simulation verification of the automatic generation control (AGC) of HTR-PM600, a typical distributed simulation case that extends the dynamic model of three-machine-nine-nodes regional grid is exhibited as follows. The regional grid model have been downloaded from the host computer to a Speedgoat real-time target machine which communicates with DCS Level1 gateway through the Modbus TCP protocol. After receiving the measurement signal of thermal power， the generator frequency have been calculated by Speedgoat and sent to the DCS Level1 gateway in real time. Through the algorithm configuration assignment network variables between Level1 gateway and control station of DCS, the generator frequency signal have been finally imported to the AGC algorithm. The distribute simulation method has the characteristics of economical communication consumption, standardized and reliable communication protocol, and flexible downloading models and algorithms means. Aside this, due to the relatively independence from DCS, the distribute simulation method is promising to be a novel platform for verify the technology advanced control or fault diagnosis in addition to DCS computing servers.</p>
