<p>To improve the seismic safety of nuclear power plants, it is necessary to evaluate the seismic behavior considering the joints of each component that are treated as independent models during design evaluation, such as buildings, equipment, and piping systems. Particularly, the pipe support structure, which is the joint between the building and pipes, is important in the seismic evaluation of the piping system. While the current seismic evaluation of pipe support structures is performed within the elastic range, it is necessary to consider the realistic elastic-plastic response of pipe support structures for fragility assessment in seismic probabilistic risk assessment (PRA). However, seismic evaluation methods that consider the elastic-plastic response of pipe support structures have not yet been developed, and there is a need to improve seismic evaluation methods. In this study, a hybrid seismic response experiment for simulating the seismic behavior of the pipe support structure including the elastic-plastic response has been conducted. Specifically, static cyclic loading tests and hybrid seismic response tests were conducted using 10 joint models of pipe support structures and equipment support structures to understand the basic mechanical behavior. In this paper, the outline of the experiment will be reported to develop an analysis model that simulates a dynamic response reduction.</p>

This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
