<p>There are many large and thin multi-layer cylindrical shell components in the reactor. The multi-layer components are close to each other, resulting in many narrow gap fluid domains. These members usually have low stiffness, so the fluid structure interaction effect caused by these narrow gap fluids needs to be evaluated more accurately under seismic conditions. The added mass formula of infinitely long flexible coaxial cylinder is given by the pressure field wave equation. When the distance between multi-layer components is small, the additional mass is very large. Moreover, this calculation method is too conservative for the narrow gap fluid domain in the multi-layer cylindrical shell with single end fixed, which is not suitable for engineering. In this paper, the fluid solid interaction effect is evaluated by calculating the added mass brought by the fluid in the narrow gap. Based on the finite element analysis method, the multi-layer cylindrical shell and its fluid are numerically simulated. The fluid part adopts Fluid 220 acoustic fluid element. The added mass of the fluid on both sides of the circular thin-walled component with narrow gap fluid on both sides is calculated, and compared with the situation that there is fluid in one side narrow gap and different types of fluid domain on both sides. The free interface is considered in the calculation process, and the influence of different liquid level height on the added mass of narrow gap is explored, which has reference value for the design and seismic test of multi-layer shell narrow gap drainage structure in reactor.</p>
