&nbsp;Few-group constants of fuel and reflector region are generally used for core design of LWR. The few- group constant of reflector depends on the fuel adjacent to the reflector region, thus the power distribution and the reactivity also depends on the fuel in the core design. However, the effect of changing fuels adjacent to the radial reflector has not been clarified. Therefore, the purpose of this study is the evaluation of the effect of changing fuels adjacent to the radial reflector on the power distribution and the reactivity in order to clarify the effect of changing fuels adjacent to the radial reflector on the radial reflector constant. First, the effect of changing fuels adjacent to the radial reflector on the power distribution is evaluated and is compared to effect of changing temperature or boron concentration which are generally taken into account in conventional model of the radial reflector constant. In this evaluation, the effect of changing fuels adjacent to the reflector on the radial reflector constant is evaluated by using UO2 and MOX fuels. Furthermore, the effect on the radial reflector constant is evaluated based on the perturbation theory. The results show the impact on power distribution is about 0.2 % at maximum, and the impact on the reactivity is -3×10-7Δk/k.

About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
