<p>0D and 1D engine simulation is becoming increasingly important in engine development due to the consideration of project budget and development period. High efficiency and accuracy 0D combustion prediction models which can be applied to wide engine work conditions are strongly required simultaneously. In this presentation , a series of quasi-dimensional SI combustion models, including turbulence combustion model, CCV model , kinetic knock model, are developed and validated by several engine tests. The laminar and turbulence flame speed descriptions in the turbulence combustion model are reconstruction to improve the prediction in both traditional combustion and high dilution combustion without parameter tuning. The major fluctuation factors which cause CCV are distinguished by using LES and engine experiments. Detailed mechanism is directly adopted to the knock prediction and parallel solving strategy is developed to ensure the simulation efficiency. As for the fuel in the kinetic simulation, a gasoline surrogate including 4 species is calibrated in according with the China VI 92# gasoline. Test results from three engines are used in the validations. The test condition covers the whole engine MAP. The results show that the average errors of BSFC and combustion duration (CA 10-CA90) are below 2% and 2<sup>o </sup>CA respectively (CA 50 same as experiments), the average error of knocking CA 50 is below 2°CA (by the prediction of knock model). Only some turbulence model parameters which are related to combustion chamber geometry are tuned according to the CFD simulation. The model can be used in almost every stage of the engine development process. Several applications of the model, including the technical evaluation in the concept design, hardware selection in the detailed design, virtual calibration in the testbench development and transient simulation in the emission calibration, are also shown in this presentation.</p>

This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
