<p>Printed electronics is a technology for manufacturing electronic circuits and electronic devices by printing functional inks on a film. Printed electronics is essential for the implementation of various technologies such as flexible displays, solar cells, and RFID, and the development of the IoT industry. Among the printed electronics production processes, the roll-to-roll process enables large-scale and continuous production, enabling low-cost and high-speed mass production. The roll-to-roll process has the advantage of being easy to implement flexible electronic products. In recent years, processes capable of forming ultra-precision patterns such as roll-to-roll reverse offset and roll-to-roll nanoimprint are in the spotlight. However, in the roll-to-roll process for large-scale production, runout occurs on the roll due to errors in the assembly of parts and errors in roll processing precision. It also causes eccentricity and non-uniformity of contact pressure. The non-uniformity of contact pressure affects the line width and thickness of the print pattern, which may deteriorate the print quality. It is essential to uniformly control the contact pressure in the roll-to-roll process. Since the existing contact pressure control system is independent in control&nbsp;of both&nbsp;ends of the impression roll, there is a limit to control the contact pressure. Also, there is a limit in compensating for the measurement magnitude and delay error caused by indirectly measuring the contact pressure using load cells. In this study, we propose to estimate the measurement magnitude and delay error by deriving the transfer function between the load cell signal and the actual contact pressure, and compensate for them using a time delay predictor. We also design the individual drive cross-coupled control system to perform contact pressure uniformization by modeling the relationship between the impression roll and the plate roll according to the measured value of the load cell.</p>

Supporting the need among researchers worldwide for additional online and multimedia content, ASME now offers the ASME Conference Video Collection. This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
