<p>The pseudopotential lattice Boltzmann method has been widely used for simulating multiphase flow due to its concise concept and computational simplicity. In this paper, based on a set of weighted orthogonal basis vectors, a three-dimensional weighted multiple-relaxation-time (MRT) pseudopotential lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is developed, in which two different standard lattice stencils including D3Q19 and D3Q27 are adopted. Compared with the classical MRT pseudopotential LBM based on a set of orthogonal basis vectors, the expressions of the equilibrium function and discrete force term in moment space are simplified in the present model, which contributes to improving the computational efficiency and simplifying the program implementation. To achieve large density ratio and tunable surface tension, two additional discrete source terms in moment space are introduced into this model, which are then validated by a series of tests for the Maxwell area construction rule and the Laplace's law. Finally, using the present model, three benchmark cases including droplet oscillation under different viscosity ratios, droplet impingement on wall and droplet impact on liquid film with different Reynolds numbers (Re) and Weber numbers (We) are implemented to investigate the performance of this model. The numerical results are in good agreement with the analytical solution or the results published in literature. Meanwhile, comparing with the results obtained by the classical MRT pseudopotential LBM, the present model is superior in computational efficiency, while keeps comparable accuracy.</p>

Supporting the need among researchers worldwide for additional online and multimedia content, ASME now offers the ASME Conference Video Collection. This platform will collect and provide long-term access to conference presentation videos, encompassing all technology areas within ASME's technical conference and events program. About 30,000-40,000 engineers across all mechanical engineering and related disciplines participate in ASME conferences each year. This includes authors of approximately 6,000 to 8,000 technical papers published by ASME, the majority of whom also submit video presentations for our virtual conferences. The video collection will be available as an add-on to existing product packages or as a separate subscription.
